 "One of the most encouraging things I learned from the legislative trip was how much the legislators value citizen participation and how important it was for us to keep conducting, refining, and expanding the effort. Too often people assume someone else is advocating for the region in Madison and expect someone else to make sure the region’s concerns are being heard. Things won’t change unless people get involved. Legislative Days allow people to do just that. This event was a proud day for the St. Croix Valley and a good barometer for more regional efforts."

 In addition to volunteering their time to the advocacy event, participants paid a registration fee and were responsible for their overnight lodging. Many traveled to Madison on a coach bus that was arranged as part of the event.
